To Be a Zoe

I really need to reorganize all my tags. One day I shall. That day is not today. I work too much. This is good and bad. Bad because when I finally have time to myself, I find myself playing the Sims 2 until 4 am - glances at clock - okay, nearly 5 am. So, this year is kinda bumpy so far. Just a bad first few days really.  I'm unpleasantly and rather uncomfortably broke because I accidentally threw away my retainers awhile back and guess who had to not only buy replacements but also had to pay for more x-rays because the last time I've been to said orthodontist was in 2006?

Apparently once they put your files in storage, you become a non-entity to them. Fair enough but I have to pay a good chunk of change to get my shiny new retainers. Sigh. I'm never losing them again. Plus, gonna be some serious pain wearing them again. Not that my teeth are horrible or anything but shifting the teeth back? Painful. And clearly I am way gone tired if telling y'all about my ortho woes.

Ah, what else? Um, in regards to writing, I have a new year's resolution that I think might actually stick. I have no idea when I'll be able to implement it but I have it. Kind of like a diploma - I finally have the stupid thing and it makes damn near no difference in anything. Or it feels like that anyway. I think I've already mentioned my interest in slipping into het romance and stretching my word counts, yada yada.

I just wish I had brain enough to write. Even my fic has stalled some. I'm gonna try and finish the third Holmes story today/tomorrow/whatever the hell right now constitutes as. The beauty of fanfic, as I'm joyously discovering, is that it doesn't have to be long. It has to be good yes but that's just like pro-fic. You don't publish shit and you don't put out shit for free. So yeah. I have a few more icons I made, no words just pics. Holmes, he is so picture-perfect, no?

I'll try to put those up later too. Ah...and that is it, I think. I'm dead drowsy and it is officially 5:01 am. Need sleepins so I can be one with my brain and *gasp* not wake up and roll out of bed to hit the freeway. Thank you sweet Lord.

 And what a beautifully written review as well: Lost is a dark, gritty story with the flavor of the old black and white film noir in it. All the characters are lost in one way or another – physically, emotionally or morally....This is a powerful and lingering read! Thank you, Storm :)

 

(Sidenote: crazy shit, I actually didn't use Write or Die to finish.)

The Asher novella is complete at a whopping (for me) 34,517 words. It is the longest story to date that I have ever written. I am both proud and utterly destroyed that I'm done. It's been a year long project and almost died several times. It's been a long, hard road. The words fought me, the story went places that broke my heart. Several times over. But in the end, it is a fitting story. I'm happy this will end the series.

Yes. This is the end.

Tomorrow, I think I will write about this first time ending of a series, even one as unintentional as this one was. For now, I'm sending it to my beta and going to bed. For tomorrow, I also have to go to work.

Tomorrow brings forth new ideas and a time to indulge in the end of the story blues. Then, onward. *sniff*
